Smart Boards and Smiling Futures: PACT Foundation Upgrades Classrooms at New English School, Kundaim
Kundaim, Goa – 11 June 2025: Four newly upgraded smart classrooms were inaugurated at New English School, Kundaim as part of PACT Foundation’s ongoing Happy School Project. The digital upgrade marks a significant step in modernising the school’s infrastructure to support 21st-century learning.
Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Founder and President of PACT Foundation, inaugurated the classrooms and shared an inspiring message with students and faculty: “Smart classrooms can be a student’s window to the world.” He emphasised the role of digital infrastructure in improving the quality of education and reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to creating vibrant, modern, and dignified learning environments in Goa.
The upgraded classrooms feature advanced smart boards, fresh painting, and full renovation work—transforming traditional learning spaces into dynamic, technology-enabled hubs. The project was closely coordinated by In-charge Headmistress Mrs. Sweta Haldankar, who thanked the Foundation for its valuable support in enhancing the school’s facilities.
Mr. Sanjay R. S. Priolkar, President of Centro Educador Society, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the institution, noting that the initiative will be remembered and cherished by the Society for years to come.
PACT Foundation’s Co-founder Amelia Ferrao delivered an emotional speech reflecting on the experience of working closely with the school. She shared that she felt deeply honoured and touched to be considered a part of the school’s extended family.
The event was also graced by other esteemed members of the C.E. Society and school community, including Mr. Satish Karekar, Secretary of C.E. Society; Mr. Keshav Kamat, Co-opted Member of the Society and PTA Treasurer; and Mr. Ashok Gawade, PTA Vice Chairman.
In a heartfelt gesture, students presented thanksgiving cards and shared touching feedback with the guests. They also had the unique opportunity to engage in an informal and inspiring dialogue with Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, which left a lasting impact on the young minds.
This latest project further expands the footprint of the Happy School initiative, which continues to bring meaningful improvements to schools across Goa, blending traditional values with cutting-edge educational tools.
