Chief Minister of Goa Congratulates PACT Foundation’s First Goa Super 100 Scholars

Panaji, Goa – 3 July 2026 – The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, met and congratulated the first two scholars selected under PACT Foundation’s Goa Super 100 Scholarship initiative, ahead of their departure for BML Munjal University near Delhi. The meeting marked a proud moment for the State and for the two young women beginning their higher education journey.

The scholars – Ms Laxmi Nilesh Toraskar of Nerul, pursuing BA Economics, and Ms Satwija Bablo Naik of Dabal, pursuing BA LLB – were selected on merit and need. Each scholarship is valued at ₹30 lakhs for the entire programme and covers tuition, hostel, meals, a computer, and every tool the students need to succeed, provided in collaboration with BML Munjal University.

In a post on his social media, the Chief Minister said he had met and congratulated the two scholars, and interacted with Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder of PACT Foundation, appreciating the Foundation’s commendable efforts towards empowering Goan youth through education and opportunity. He described the Goa Super 100 Scholarship as a remarkable initiative supporting students from marginalised communities with higher education and hostel assistance at leading universities across India, based on merit and need.

“This is the promise of Goa Super 100 –talent from our villages, given a full and fair chance. Laxmi and Satwija earned their places on merit. We are removing the one barrier that stood in the way – cost. I am grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for meeting them and sending them off with his blessings. Their journey will inspire the next hundred.”

The PACT Foundation delegation was led by Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder, and included Ms Amelia Ferrao, Co-Founder, and Mr Darryl Fernandes, Project Executive.

About the Goa Super 100 Scholarship

The Goa Super 100 Scholarship is a flagship initiative of PACT Foundation. It aims to provide undergraduate education and hostel accommodation to 100 Goan youth from marginalised communities, enabling them to access higher education opportunities at leading universities across India. Selection is made on the basis of merit and need.
