Verla, Goa – 29 March 2025: In its continued commitment to uplifting learning environments in Goa, PACT Foundation successfully implemented its Happy School Project at Government Primary School (GPS), Verla, marked by the inauguration of a newly renovated playground and podium.

The inauguration was led by Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder and President of PACT Foundation, who engaged with students and staff, sharing words of encouragement and inspiration. The upgrades are part of PACT’s ongoing mission to ensure that children in government schools have access to vibrant, inclusive, and dignified spaces that support both academic and personal development.
The school’s Headmistress, Madam Nishta Bhandari, expressed heartfelt thanks to PACT Foundation, highlighting the significance of these additions for the students’ overall growth. The new podium now provides a dedicated space for school events, assemblies, and celebrations, while the upgraded playground gives children a safe and joyful environment for play and recreation.
During his interaction with the students, Dr. Fernandes encouraged them to dream big, embrace learning with joy, and make full use of the improved school facilities. He reiterated PACT Foundation’s belief that every child, regardless of background, deserves access to high-quality learning spaces that promote curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
This initiative at GPS Verla forms part of the broader Happy School Project, which has now reached numerous schools across Goa, transforming classrooms, playgrounds, sanitation facilities, and more. Each project is tailored to the needs of the local school community, with a focus on sustainability, engagement, and long-term impact.
