Assagao, Goa – 12 June 2025: Continuing its impactful journey across Goa, PACT Foundation inaugurated its latest Happy School Project at Assagao Union High School, a non-profit institution run by the Assagao Association, committed to providing quality education to underserved communities.
The inauguration was held in the presence of Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder and President of PACT Foundation, alongside key members of the Assagao Association. Mr Ruildo D’Souza, Secretary of the Assagao Association and President of the Assagao Communidade, delivered a powerful message on the value of philanthropy and community-driven development. He commended PACT Foundation for taking proactive steps to enhance school infrastructure and promote inclusive education.
The project included the installation of modern smart boards and classroom upgrades, turning traditional classrooms into dynamic, tech-enabled learning spaces. This aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP), which encourages digital learning and holistic student development.
Headmaster, Mr Shreedhar Naik extended heartfelt thanks to the Foundation for the timely support and for bridging the gap where public resources fall short. Also in attendance were Mr. Edwin Fonseca, a senior member of the School Society Management, and several PTA members, all showing strong support for the initiative.
Addressing the students, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes encouraged them to strive beyond boundaries, drawing inspiration from global icons like Sundar Pichai and Oprah Winfrey, both of whom emerged from humble beginnings to achieve international recognition. “Let these smart boards be your window to the world. Don’t just dream, act on those dreams with courage, discipline, and purpose,” he said.
The students expressed enthusiasm over the new learning tools and conveyed their gratitude through warm interactions with the visiting guests.
The Happy School Project by PACT Foundation has now reached multiple schools across Goa, transforming educational infrastructure with a focus on dignity, access, and modernisation.
