PACT Foundation Announces Happy School Project at G.P.S. Kamarkhazan, Mapusa, on Goa Liberation Day

Mapusa, Goa – 19th December 2024: In a significant step towards improving educational infrastructure and fostering holistic learning environments, PACT Foundation announced its Happy School Project at the Government Primary School (G.P.S.), Kamarkhazan, Mapusa, near Peddem Sports Complex, on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day.

As part of this transformative initiative, the school underwent renovation that included upgrading toilet facilities, installing a new water tank storage system, constructing a stage amphitheatre for performances, beautifying the garden area, and securing the grill gates with new installations and repairs. This comprehensive project underscores PACT Foundation’s commitment to creating safe, inspiring, and functional spaces for students to learn and grow.

The event commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by Dr Ashwin Fernandes, President of PACT Foundation, in honour of Goa Liberation Day. The ceremony was attended by students, teachers, parents, and invited guests, with patriotic fervour marked by the singing of the national anthem and “Vande Mataram.” The teacher-in-charge, Ms Snehal Mahalkar, along with the school staff and students, organised a full programme that included cultural performances and a felicitation ceremony.

During his address, Dr Fernandes emphasised the transformative power of education as the ultimate enabler for a brighter future. Speaking directly to the students and parents, he encouraged them to view education as the path to overcoming present challenges and unlocking their full potential. “Your future will not be defined by your present circumstances. Education has the power to take you beyond your struggles and create opportunities that can change your life,” he said, inspiring hope and confidence in the community.

The event’s highlight was the vibrant performances by the students, which celebrated Goa’s cultural heritage and brought the school community together in a spirit of joy and unity. The upgraded facilities will not only enhance the day-to-day experience of the students but also serve as a symbol of the community’s collective investment in education and development.

Ms Snehal Mahalkar, teacher-in-charge, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to PACT Foundation and its President, Dr Ashwin Fernandes, for the impactful changes brought to the school. “These renovations have transformed our school into a vibrant, welcoming space where students feel valued and inspired to learn,” she said.

PACT Foundation’s Happy School Project continues to focus on providing infrastructure upgrades, resources, and opportunities that create a nurturing environment for students. With each project, the Foundation aims to empower young learners and contribute to the overall development of communities across Goa.
