PACT Foundation Inaugurates Happy School Project at GPMS Karaswada

On the birth anniversary of Goa’s first Chief Minister, Dayanand Bandodkar, PACT Foundation inaugurated its latest Happy School Project at the Government Primary and Middle School (GPMS) Karaswada, Mapusa. This initiative focuses on creating safe, inspiring, and technology-driven learning environments for children.

The event was attended by enthusiastic students and dedicated teachers. Chief Guest Dr Ashwin Fernandes, President of PACT Foundation, received a warm welcome with beautiful artwork crafted by students.

Highlighting the significance of the project, PACT Foundation unveiled several key infrastructure upgrades. A modern computer lab was inaugurated, providing students with essential digital tools to enhance their learning experiences. Additionally, safety grills were installed throughout the school, and tile repair work was completed, significantly improving both safety and aesthetics.

The celebration commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a garlanding in honour of Dayanand Bandodkar, setting an inspiring tone for the day’s proceedings. Students presented vibrant cultural performances, including a joyful welcome song and a lively dance by pre-primary children, reflecting the spirit and enthusiasm of the school community.

A prize distribution ceremony celebrated students’ academic achievements and extracurricular efforts, with awards presented by Dr Ashwin Fernandes, who encouraged students to continue striving for excellence and use their talents to shape a brighter future.

Addressing students and teachers, Dr Fernandes stated, “Education is essential and empowers you to shape your own future. Every child deserves modern tools and a safe environment to learn. Through initiatives like the Happy School Project, we aim to provide students with resources that help them succeed and make a positive impact in our community.”

Headmistress Mrs Sangeeta Umakant Vaigankar expressed heartfelt gratitude to PACT Foundation, emphasising how the upgraded infrastructure and new computer lab would significantly enhance the school’s educational offerings.

PACT Foundation’s Happy School Project is committed to eliminating barriers to quality education by improving school facilities and integrating technology into classrooms.
