Sancordem: The Happy School Project of PACT Foundation reached another milestone with the inauguration of two new Smart Classrooms at Smt Hirabai Talaulicar High School, Sancordem-Dharbandora. The upgrade is part of PACT’s ongoing effort to modernise learning spaces for underserved schools across Goa and give students access to digital tools that can genuinely shape their academic journeys.

The ceremony brought together members of the Sancordem Education Society, including Mr Pradeep Talaulicar, Chairman; Mr Gopal Nadkarni, Secretary; Mr Chandrakant Dessai, Treasurer; and other managing committee members, along with PTA representative Sampan Naik.

Chief Guest Dr Ashwin Fernandes, Founder of PACT Foundation, received a warm traditional welcome on arrival. A short march-past led by Master Saiesh Gawas marked the start of the programme before the guests proceeded to the upgraded classroom wing.

Inside the school hall, students opened the formal function with a welcome song and a video followed by lighting of the lamp and a welcome address by Dr Sarvanand Dessai, Assistant Headmaster. Headmistress Mrs Prachi Bhave spoke about what the new digital facilities mean for teaching and learning, thanking PACT Foundation for its support under the Happy School Project.

"In his keynote, Dr Fernandes shared Sudha Murty’s experience of breaking gender barriers in engineering and urged students to use technology not as a shortcut, but as a springboard for curiosity, creativity and excellence."

Mr Pradeep Talaulicar, Chairman, Sancordem Education Society, in his presidential address, acknowledged PACT Foundation’s contribution and commended the school team for driving the initiative.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Dessai. Before departing, Dr Fernandes visited several classrooms to speak with students about their goals and the futures they envision for themselves.

School leaders said the Smart Classrooms will significantly enhance the learning environment, strengthening the institution’s shift toward digital pedagogy under the Happy School Project.
