Mapusa, 15 August 2024: Dr. Ambedkar English High School in Cunchelim, Mapusa, marked India’s 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and a profound sense of national pride. The event was honoured by Ms. Amelia Ferrao, Co-founder and Chief Co-Ordinator of PACT Foundation, as the chief guest.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem. The students, dressed smartly in their uniforms, stood united, embodying the theme of the day: “Unity in Diversity.”

Ms. Ferrao also highlighted the significant contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, after whom the school is named, reminding everyone of his tireless efforts to ensure equal rights and opportunities for every citizen of India, regardless of their background.

The Independence Day celebration concluded with a pledge by both students and teachers to uphold the values of unity, respect, and love for the nation. The day’s events served as a fitting tribute to the freedom fighters and a reminder of the importance of unity in preserving the nation’s independence.
